The Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at AIIMS Deoghar is a newly established super specialty department dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centred care for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, biliary system, and spleen. Established under the leadership of Dr. Sneha Jha, the department aims to address the growing need for advanced gastrointestinal surgical services in Jharkhand and the neighbouring regions.

The department provides comprehensive evaluation and management of benign and malignant gastrointestinal disorders, including hepatopancreatobiliary diseases, gastrointestinal cancers, inflammatory bowel diseases, hernias, emergency gastrointestinal conditions, abdominal wall reconstruction( Hernias) and complex abdominal surgical disorders. Advanced surgical care is delivered through both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques, ensuring safe, effective, and quality-driven patient outcomes.
