The Department of Urology at AIIMS Deoghar was established as an independent superspecialty department in June 2023 under the leadership of its founding faculty member, Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Tiwari, marking the commencement of dedicated urological services at the institute. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centred care across the entire spectrum of adult and pediatric urological disorders. The department offers advanced evaluation and management of urinary stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia, uro-oncological conditions, reconstructive urology, functional and female urology, andrology, and urological emergencies, with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive and endourological procedures. In addition to delivering quality clinical care, the department actively promotes academic excellence, clinical research, and multidisciplinary collaboration. With a steadfast commitment to ethical practice, innovation, and continual advancement, the Department of Urology is steadily emerging as a trusted referral centre and a promising academic hub for urological care in Jharkhand and Eastern India.
