The Department of Neurology at AIIMS Deoghar is a new and rapidly developing academic unit serving a large population across Jharkhand and neighboring states. The department aims to establish dedicated subspecialty services, including comprehensive Stroke and Neuroimmunology Clinics, to improve early diagnosis, evidence-based management, and long-term follow-up of neurological disorders. Additional priorities include developing neurophysiology services (EEG, EMG/NCS), inpatient neurology care, promoting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and conducting quality clinical research. By building multidisciplinary services and expanding diagnostic capabilities, the department seeks to provide accessible, high-quality neurological care to an underserved region while advancing academic excellence.
