The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at AIIMS Deoghar is a super-specialty department dedicated to the surgical management of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular diseases. Established with OPD services in September 2021 and IPD services in January 2024, the department provides comprehensive outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and operative care to patients from Jharkhand and neighboring regions of Bihar and West Bengal. The department offers adult cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, perioperative critical care, and postoperative follow-up. In 2026, AIIMS Deoghar successfully established independent open-heart surgery services, making advanced cardiac surgical care accessible to the underserved Santhal region.
